A General Election is the election in which federal and state officers, members of Congress and of the general assembly, county and township officers, and other officers appear on the ballot. General Elections are held the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November of each even-numbered year.

Absentee Ballots

Absentee Ballots will be available beginning Wednesday, October 19, 2022, for mail and in-person voting. 

Voted absentee ballots returned by mail MUST be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on ELECTION DAY, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 to be considered on time to be counted.  Voters are advised to keep in mind that postal delivery is now two to five days.

Extended Hours

Extended and Saturday hours are available for voter registration and absentee voting in the Jones County Auditor’s Office. In addition to regular hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., extended office hours during the 2022 general election season will be as follows:

As a result of the legislative redistricting process following the most recent census, Jones County has been put into one legislative district.
